Traditionally known as the neighbourhood pizzeria, Del Forno was founded in 2000. A strong background in the food industry and immense passion for pizza sparked the original concept of a unique and rich Italian sit-down pizzeria and grill concept. Del Forno is now the preferred neighbourhood local for not only our eat-in customers, but also take away and delivery clients.
Starting at the base
Del Forno Franchising offers each new franchisee a full turnkey operation with back up and support. Once the market in a suitable area has been established and the site assessed, then lease and site negotiations, store development and employee selection begin.
Full ongoing training for the staff is a vital issue that Del Forno concentrates on, to help build each franchisee’s team to be successful unit. All training is backed up with the operations manual, which equips all franchisees and management teams with the necessary tools to master the running of a successful Del Forno Outlet.
The unique Del Forno brand is emphasized by operating from a centralized kitchen and by making use of national suppliers to maintain quality control, standards and uniformity. Aggressive marketing and advertising promote Del Forno as the essence of true Italian heritage.

Marketing and advertising are important tools in promoting the Del Forno brand. A number of different and exciting marketing activities are implemented to improve the awareness and growth of Del Forno as the “preferred Neighbourhood Pizzeria and Grill”.
FRANCHISEE SELECTION AND FINANCE APPLICATIONS
All franchisees are carefully screened and undergo a selection process. To meet our requirements, franchisees undergo a series of interviews and applications before the final approval of a new franchisee is given. We look for vibrant people with outgoing personalities who possess a passion for food and are financially stable and self-motivated.
SITE REQUIREMENTS, SELECTION AND DEVELOPMENT
Del Forno carefully identifies and selects the best site for the business. These sites require 150-350m² with an outside deck of 50m². High profile sites with good visibility and accessibility are highly sought, as this is critical to the success of the business. A good selection of evening traders in close vicinity, such as late-night pharmacies, food stores and retail outlets, are critical to the success of the outlet.
Careful analysis of the area in terms of demographics, competition, visibility etc. will enable us to make an accurate assessment as to whether the site will meet the requirements of a suitable location for a Del Forno outlet.
STORE SET UP AND OPENING OF STORE
Project management of a new store from shop fitting and equipment to signage, are monitored by the franchise company. This ensures that the franchisee is presented with a complete turnkey operation and full operational assistance is provided throughout the opening and hand-holding process.
Training is one of the cornerstones of the Del Forno brand. All prospective franchisees are required to attend a training course which comprises of both theoretical and practical training. This will cover areas such as customer service, menu training, business skills, financial management and much, much more. On-going training is always readily available from our operational staff.
